In addition to the committee members, there are many volunteers who help with projects around town.

The Shade Tree Committee began planting trees in 2008.  Over 200 trees, along with shrubs and flowers, have been planted around Mayfield including the Mayfield Athletic Complex, Anna McCarthy Playground, Memorial Park, and along several streets in town, Hill, Lackawanna and Poplar, to name a few.

Several grants have helped along the way with funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and TreeVitalize.
